Getting a booking in the old course of the Ballybunion Golf Club can be quite difficult especially in the peak season. A long list is filled up months before the season and most of them are seasoned golfers looking forward to the difficult yet very relaxing links. But if you don’t get the chance to have some tee time on the old course, you may find that the Ballybunion Golf Club Cashen course, its new course, can be quite as challenging and some might say its more challenging.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones SR., the Ballybunion Golf Club Cashen course features spectacular yet difficult long links dotted with enormous sand dunes, which means you have to make the ball fly when you play to the number of greens that has been elevated in these treacherous course.

While scores of golfers from all over the world flock to Southwest Ireland for the old Ballybunion Golf Club course, local golfers tend to prefer the new Cashen course. Many low handicapped golfers have also expressed their preference for the new course, but the old still remains as a must go to and play course for all golfers, for maybe at least once.

The Ballybunion Golf Club Cashen course has traditional links and like the old course, it is exceptionally unique, and is set with the greatest sand dunes found in golf courses world wide. Both are also designed along the Atlantic Ocean offering a calming back drop.

The Ballybunion Golf Club Cashen course is also a private members only club like the old course, but they do sometimes allow limited public access during weekdays. Limited guest plays are also allowed but must always be accompanied by a member.

The Ballybunion Golf Club Cashen course has set booking conditions so that other golfers can be accommodated as some of them come from different parts of the globe. Some of the conditions are:

· All payments are non-transferable and non-refundable.
· Bookings not paid by the due date will be removed from the list
· Payment in full must be given 28 days after reservations has been made.
· Payments can be done via cash, cheque or credit cards.
· A handicap limit is observed. 24 for males and 36 for females.
· The certificate of handicaps should be presented on the day of reservation.
· A group of four would only be the allowable number in each play.

Being one of the most sought after golf clubs in Ireland and the world, members, guests and visitors are expected to follow a dress code that would met the clubs high standards and should be neat, tidy and clean.

You will not be accepted in the club if you were the following:

· Sleeveless, singlets and shirts with no collars.
· Outfits with slogans.
· Shorts that are not tailored.
· Untucked shirts
· Leisure or track suits.
· Also, pant legs should not be tucked inside the top of the socks.

Carts are now also available to be used around the Ballybunion Golf Club Cashen course, it will only set you back 3.50 Euros for each cart for each round. You can also ride on buggies in the Cashen which is prohibited on the old course.

When it comes to golf courses, the Ballybunion Golf Club has more than a century of experience in the industry, whether it’s the old or new, you can be sure that you will get one of the more satisfying golf vacation trips in Ireland that you’ll ever have.

It is currently one of the oldest golf links in Ireland. The setting itself has offered most of its members and guests the chance to experience genuine Irish traditional culture and the prestigious traditions. If you’re looking for a peaceful environment, the Dooks Golf Club can give you that feeling perfectly.

Have you ever considered golf schools as potential venues for your annual vacation? Or even for a short winter break? Some lucky people have a vacation in the spring, summer fall and winter, but most only have the one or perhaps two. Why not make one a golfing holiday, with some golf instruction thrown in?

After all, if you are like me and every other golfer I know, you probably need some instruction. All golfers require professional coaching once in a while; even the top pros take their personal instructors on tour with them, or have a favorite teacher that they pop in to see now and again if they have a specific problem. It doesn’t have to be a massive problem, just a slight tendency to slice or hook now and again. It still needs fixed.

It’s best to Have Your Golfing Faults Corrected Professionally

Most people cannot iron out their own faults, but will tend to make allowances for them. This is not good, and some other aspect of your game will always suffer if you do this. An extreme example is the slicer who aims farther left to compensate. This is more common that you think, but it is not the way to cure a slice. You lose accuracy and distance doing this. The same applies to all manner of faults that a professional instructor in a golf academy is trained to put right. Not only put right, but put right properly and permanently. This is what a golf school is for.

A popular time for golf instruction vacations is winter. Golf schools in the winter can be short two or three day golf training course is ideal, and if this can be arranged at a resort school, or close to a holiday resort such as Orlando or Las Vegas, then you can go with your family, or a group of your buddies. Even a weekend break can do you a lot of good, with a one day golf instruction course, and the rest of the weekend spent enjoying a bit of sightseeing, a show or tasting the local night life.

Seek Out Golf Instruction Wherever You Go on Vacation

If you decide on a summer golf school vacation, Orlando or Myrtle Beach is great for the family, or even up in Colorado where you can enjoy winter sports most days of the year. There are some good golf academies up in the mountains. Take a lot of balls though! There are also lots of lakes, and the scenery is stunning.

Every state in the USA has a golf academy, and also almost every country has some. Europe has many golf schools though golf is most popular in the western European countries such as the UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Germany and Scandinavia . You can probably find a few in most countries, however, so if you are going abroad on vacation, seek out some of the local golf schools and get a new slant on your golf coaching.

The Ideal Golf Vacation Locations

Posted by admin

So you love to golf and want to take a golfing vacation? Before you plan your next golf retreat consider the following golf resorts. Each of these locations ranked highest in the best places to visit for the golf enthusiasts.

One wonderful area to visit for a golf vacation is Hawaii. The six islands that make up Hawaii seem to be perfect for golfers. Hawaii also features a perfect golfing season, which means year round in Hawaii. This is why many golfers and golf course architects visit the six islands each year. There are many wonderful golf resort courses found on the islands of Maui, Oahu and Kauai Islands.

Consider Maui as one of the best places to golf:

Some of the most impressive golf courses can be found on the island of Maui. Here you will enjoy golf courses with sweeping views of the coastline and neighboring islands. However, during the winter months you can often stop humpback whales swimming along the coast while taking your swing. Hawaii is truly a paradise for golfers with spectacular scenes ranging from mountains to ocean with sloping golf course terrains. However, this popularity also makes it difficult to book a golf vacation in Hawaii and you will need to be prepared for an expensive price.

Another location that ranks high with golf enthusiasts is Southern California. Here you will find golf courses that have hosted some historic golf events. With a combination of beauty and elegance, California golf courses are perfect for International tournaments or just a relaxing round of golf. Three of the most celebrated golf resorts in California including the Double Tree Golf Resort, Mt. Woodson and Pala Mesa Golf Resort. In California you can find remarkable golf resorts that range from mountain to ocean side courses depending on your scenic choice.

Michigan can also be a great place to golf:

Another excellent summer golf destination is Michigan. Here you will find over a thousand golf resorts and courses that offer you excellent service which ranks Michigan twelfth on the list of golfing destinations in the world. Four of the top golf courses in American can be found in Michigan. You will find lush fairways surrounded by vistas and blue waters that aren’t found anywhere else.

Lastly there is Florida. Florida is home to many spectacular golf courses and resorts. In addition, Florida offers a number of pro-golf shops, driving ranges, golf putting greens, bars and restaurants. Over the years many golf tournaments have been held in Florida, many of which are PGA and LPGA Tours. The golf courses in Florida are only matched by their excellent accommodations and fabulous dining choices. Everything you want in an excellent golf vacation can be found in Florida.

Some of the best first-rate golf resorts can be found in Myrtle Beach which is often known as the golfing capital of the world. Nowhere else in the world can you find more golf courses in one area? However, if you want a true test of your golfing abilities then there is only one place, Ireland. If you want excitement, rugged challenges and beautiful vistas along with excellent amenities then you need to travel to Ireland for you next golfing vacation.

Irish golf vacations combine a golfing experience in two countries: Eire, or the Irish Republic, and Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom. However, you would not notice by the welcome you will receive in each part of the island. The Emerald Isle is well named after its lush greenery, and the golf courses in Ireland make full use of that.

In fact, many of the Irish golf courses are links courses, such as Royal Portrush, used for the Senior British Open, and Ballybunion, a links course in County Kerry that is situated in a small seaside town. Ballybunion is rated among the top ten golf courses in the world, and is a typical links course, built among sand dunes on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Tom Watson loves it.

Too Many Irish Golf Courses to Name

There is little point in naming the famous Irish golf courses since it would take more room that is available here, so let’s just assume that all the courses you play on your Irish golfing vacation will be good ones. What you need to know now is what else Ireland has to offer.

Well, there is the Irish whiskey, the Irish stout such as Murphy’s or Guinness, and the Irish welcome. There are leprechauns, the Blarney Stone and the fantastic Dublin Bay prawns. There is everything for every member of the family, from the bright lights of Dublin, Galway and Cork to the seaside resorts and funfairs than dot the coastline of Ireland from Dublin, and right round back to Dublin again.

Whatever golfing vacation package you choose, you will find plenty for the family to do. There are walks, water sports, fishing of all kinds, both inland and sea fishing…try the shark fishing if you have the guts for it…and also the people. Only in Ireland will find grocery stores with a small bar round the back, where you are offered a drink while you wait until the official opening time!

Enjoy the Vacation but Don’t Forget the Golf

Many people end up forgetting the golf and just enjoying the vacation. It’s that kind of place. If, however, you are a serious golf player, then you will not be short of golf courses or people to play against. The golf schools are excellent, with a wealth of experience in teaching the game. After all, this is the home of Padraig Harrington, Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley, and if you are wondering who they are, ask the American Ryder Cup team!

There is a lot to do during Irish golf vacations, and lots of people willing to teach you how to do it properly. When it comes to golf and entertainment the Irish excel, and you will enjoy an experience that you will always remember. Great golf and a great time for everybody!
